AMFA represented approximately 1,750 Aircraft Maintenance Technicians at Southwest Airlines when Southwest purchased AirTran Airways in 2011. The close to 500 Mechanics at AirTran were represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT).
The seniority was 4 to 1, AMFA to IBT.
